February Birchbox

I have been looking at and considering subscribing to the Birchbox monthly beauty boxes for a while now, however my boring money saving side always takes over and convinces me not to. However after finding out you can get student discount off the boxes, I couldn't say no and ended up ordering the February box.

As it only costed me just over £6, I was a bit wary and wasn't sure what to expect. Surely the products included wouldn't be great/a good quality at such a low price? I was pleasantly surprised! Not only is the box super cute, the products are amazing and all came in a little draw string bag. My February box came with 3 sample size and 2 full size products (plus a handy hairband). The box also includes a little booklet explaining what the products are and how to use them, it tells you the price of full size versions of the products- they're all pretty pricey, which makes the Birchbox's low price even more amazing!

  • Spectrum Collections Tapered Powder Brush | RRP £7.99- This brush is SO SOFT and the colour is super cool. I haven't used it yet but I can imagine it'll be perfect to use as a contouring/blush/highlight brush.
  • Grab & Go Ponytail Holder | Set of 15 RRP £11.50- This isn't the prettiest hairband, but it's different to other hairbands. Not only is it metal free and doesn't pull out your hair, it also doesn't snap!! There is nothing more frustrating than getting your hair in the perfect bun/pony, going to tie it up and the hairband breaks.
  • Doux me Comforting Face Mask and Exfoliator | Full size RRP £18- This product doubles up as a face mask and an exfoliator, which is pretty handy. I tried it as a face mask last night and wasn't keen. It has a creamy texture and therefore doesn't have the consistency or feel of a face mask. It is extremely exfoliating though, so I will be using it solely as an exfoliator from now on.
  • LOC One and Done shadow stick in Champagne Problems | RRP £8- This is definitely my favourite product from this months Birchbox. I absolutely love the colour and it is super pigmented. I'm not one to spend hours on my eye makeup and I'm not the best at applying eyeshadow, so feel this is the perfect product for me. All you need to do is apply all over your lids and blend with your fingers- I'm sure I can manage that!
  • Cochine Water Hyacinth & Lime Blossom hand and body lotion | Full size RRP £19- I have used this moisturiser a couple of times. It feels really nice on the skin and soaks in well, leaving your skin feeling soft and moisturised. However, I am not too keen on the smell, I tend to prefer sweeter, fruity smells, but this is a more (slightly weird) floral smell.
  • Number 4 Lumber d'hover Super Comb Prep & Protect | Full size RRP £20- I haven't used this product yet, but I definitely like the sound of it. According to the bottle and booklet included, you apply it on towel dried hair and it is meant to strengthen, repair and detangle hair, whilst providing UV protection.

I will definitely be ordering another Birchbox in the future (or even subscribing to a few months worth), I am so impressed with the price of the box and the amazing products that are included. Make sure you check out the website and consider treating yourself to one of their monthly boxes https://www.birchbox.co.uk
